You know, what with all the hoo-ha and billy-ho about Dead Money (go on, you know you want it) recently, it's easy to forget that another book of mine - an honest-to-God print book - came out in August. That's considerably more expensive, but if you believe Alan Cranis at Bookgasm, then it's worth every penny:
"Beast of Burden is by far the strongest, saddest and, not surprisingly, most unforgettable title in Banks' series ... Ray Banks is one of the most talented young crime fiction authors working and reshaping the field today."
There's my blurb, right there. Chuffed to bits with that. Thank you, Mr C. You can buy the new hardcover here in the US, the trade paperback here in the UK, with an e-version to follow next year.

This is, simply, just a great frickin' book! I'm 3/4 through it and holding my breath all the way. Just finished reading Anthony Neil Smith's companion release and it's just as excellent a book as is Mr. Banks. I'm in the middle of writing a review on it and mostly afraid I won't be able to do it justice. I suspect the same will happen with Ray's book when I finish it.
